Quote #1- "From that day on, Papa's spirits began to die too. His moods changed from day to day. He began to complain about his back and got angry about everything and everyone" page 53- Francisco Jimenez
Response- This was a part of many challenges papa had to face while going through this moment. This was just one of many challenges that he faced and had to go through. Papa has been going through many changes. First he was fun to be around and loving but now hes very angry all the time and tough to be with. Going to America effected him greatly. I would say that Papa needs to be left in peace.
My person connection to papa is that sometimes when i feel down on my self or up-tight because of the certain situations that occur during my lifetime. I usually take them really serious and start to get angry at others and myself. Papa and I need to get better on that as we live our life because people won't want to hang around us anymore if we take things to serious. But i don't do that all the time, i normally good to people but sometimes Papa and I could be the same.
Question- Have you had any moments like Papa? If you had, please share what happened to you and why?
Quote #2- "Roberto and I thanked him and went home excited. Papa will be proud of us, I thought." ~Francisco Jimenez page 88
Response- In this quote I felt it gave a clear understanding of how the boys wanted to be looked at as if they did something great. This quote just gave me a interest in how the boys wanted to be recognized and how they wanted to be appreciated. I think something very interesting about this quote is that you can look back on it and think to yourself, the boys went through all those challenges and difficult times and got to the point where they have finally finished their goal. To be so excited about getting appreciated by their father must have been very important to them.
My personal connection to this quote is when I am playing baseball and my dad is sitting in the stands watching me come up to bat. Maybe the first two strikes go by and i only have 1 more strike left before I'm out. Then i hit the ball, hit flies over the fence, home run. Then i feel how great that felt and also how proud my dad would of been at that moment because i didn't just hit a home run, i hit a grand-slam on father's day.
Question- Describe one moment you felt like your dad was proud of you, explain what happened and why?

Quote#1-
I agree with you on how you said that it was a challenge for papa because it was harder for him to work but I also think that he is just depressed to because all he has been through and it has made him hopeless.
Question#1-
I wouldn't say I had a moment like papa's because I think papa is very depressed and I don't think I had ever been as depressed as him. Or if I had I don't think I remember.
Quote#2-
i agree with you on how you said that the boys have accomplished their goal to make papa happy. Although,I don't think that really covers what they need to be happy.
Question#2-
A moment when my dad has been proud of me is when I scored in my soccer game and i had never scored a goal so he was very happy because it was my first time and he knew it was something I always wanted to experience.
