Breaking Through- post #6

Quote#1- "Time to eat!" he shouted. "If your not in the dining room by the time i count to ten, you'll have to pay a fine."

In this quote I could see the difficulty to the men re-acting to the guy that made dinner. I feel like the men didn't care who was making dinner, they kinda of just ate it and walked off. If you read on in the page it describes that they were hesitant to get up but they eventually did. I could tell the person who made dinner was very happy they made it and didn't want the other men to not appreciate it.

My personal connection is when I sometimes don't get up right when my mom calls me and now that i think of it it's kinda of hurting her because she just made a dinner and now I'm not coming right away to appreciate her dinner.

Question#1- Have you ever made something that someone didn't appreciate? Did it disappoint you or did you just not care and give it to someone else?

Quote#2- "Up north, near San Jose. It's only about 250 miles, so you'll get a chance to come home on holidays, " he said.

I feel in this quote gives a lot of challenging experiences. I know it's only 250 miles but that's still a lot and to make that trip is very dangerous in some cases so i feel like this quote might lead to a dangerous accident on the freeway or maybe not make it because they ran out of gas. I don't know what the case will be but i feel this long challenging road trip to visit them on the holidays for some reason gives me a sign that says watch out! dangerous zone. I don't know if I'm making sense so if you didn't get what i said right there then I will try to sum it up with this next sentence. I feel this quote will show a lot of challenging signs when they visit each other and drive 250 miles on the holidays and that because they are going through this challenging road trip that it might be dangerous that's all I'm trying to say.

My personal connection is that when i go for a long road trip I sometimes feel like it's going to be a little dangerous because of car accidents and things like that but i know it's a rare chance but i still have those feelings and always want to keep safe on the road.

Question#2- Did you get what I was trying to say in the second quote? If you don't get it explain why or if you do get it, explain why you either liked it or didn't like it? ( Really want to know if I'm making sense ) This will be a great place to start

Response 1: I actually thought this quote was funny. I didn't think it weird, like you said, I just thought it was a little dinner-time joke, and it made me laugh. It did, however, make me think the guy who said it was a little stuck-up. It just seemed like a back joke to me.

Question 1: Yes, I've done that. It made me feel sad, but I soon got over it. I just didn't really care after that.

Response 2: I felt the same way. I thought it was odd that he said it's 'ONLY 250 miles'. That seems like a lot to me. Also, I think it was a challenging road trip, like you said.

Quetions 2: I was a little unsure of the middle, and part of the end. It was just hard to follow, but I got the just.
