The Secret Life of Bees Book Review

The book, the secret life of bees is a novel about a 14 year old girl who accidentally killed her mother when she was young. She didn't really pay attention when she was younger (no toddler would). She had to have a father and mother so her new father was a abusive man that was very hard on her. She also had to deal with a new mother that was black and cold-hearted stand-in mother. Her name was Rosaleen and was a very bad role model. The cold-hearted mother was put in jail for her assaulted actions to racists. Lily is the name of the girl who accidentally killed her mother. Lily tried to sneak Rosaleen out of jail and into tiburon which is in south Carolina. There she discovers three beekeepers.
I'm going to stop there for now because I didn't want to ruin it for you, but this book is definitely a great book that people who love emotional, inspiring, heart-warming, fascinating, and many other words to describe a book like this would be great for you. I have to make a point that this book was not for me and i clearly figured that out the first few chapters. I recommend this book to kids/adults for girls mostly but also for boys. If you like these kinda of books i can say that you will get hooked on it as soon as you start. But if your someone like me then i recommend another book with more fighting like lord of the rings series or star wars. The secret life of bees is a great book even though it wasn't my type of book. It still caught my attention in ways i wouldn't think of. It gave me an understanding of what lily overcame in her life and what she got angry at or frustrated at. You can feel the hate or the happiness in lily not in a bad way but like you know what shes thinking. In the story lily gets angry by throwing things like honey jars at walls which makes her mad. Everything lily does is something you know shes gonna do because you feel a resemblance to her in some way. I can't describe it perfectly in words but I'm trying the best i can. The reason why its hard to describe in words is because the way the writer wrote the book. She was so smart and intelligent with the characters in the book that when i read it, its like I'm in the book and I'm on a adventure. As i take my eyes off the book i feel like the magnet that was just connected broke and split into two pieces and the adventure turns into crinkled pages, but for some reason the books didn't crinkle this time. The pages kept the adventure going and sparkling in the air.
I know it sounds weird but reading out loud in my house for 2 hours almost everyday is not something i would normally do, but with the page by page adventure I felt connected to her and with her in some parts of her life. I would be happy to recommend this book to many of my classmates and teachers. I would like to thank my teacher for getting me back into reading again, dealing with me this semester, and also my classmates for being a great help as well (sorry just something that had to come out).
